St. Clair College has a number of campuses scattered throughout Ontario, all of which offer different programs to their students. One of the more popular programs being offered is the
performing arts program. This is currently being offered at the south campus in Windsor. The entire program will take three years to complete if you are attending on a full time basis with new enrollment starting each September. Due to the fact that this program focuses on
performing arts an audition may be needed in order for you to be accepted into the program. You will be notified of this when you submit your application. The fact that auditions may be needed means that St. Claire College values the quality of the program and does not accept everyone that applies. The music theatre at this school has been designed for those people who have an innate ability to sing and act and who love performing in front of others.
When you enroll in this program at St. Clair College you will be given plenty of opportunities to practice what you are learning as each semester students put off performances. Each performance is done in front of a twelve hundred seat audience. There are some smaller productions that are held in smaller theatres but for the most part all productions take place in front of a large audience. This gives the students the exposure and the experience they need to perform in front of very large crowds.
The teaching staff for the
performing arts program is in fact qualified performers who are still active in the performing arts community while they teach at the school. The staff includes a large number of people who are seasoned professionals when it comes to music theatre and performing. They have the skills and experience needed to teach the students the skills they need to be successful when they complete the program. Class sizes are not large which enables students to reach one on one instruction in areas where they may be struggling. The great thing about this program is it offers students a great blend of a traditional singing and performing and contemporary singing. The program includes a vast list of acting courses that will teach you how to be a performer in addition to a great singer. If you have a great love of singing and dancing then you must apply for this program at St. Clair College.
